Bad customer service SCL airport's sales team at the front desk. I tried to solve baggage problem, the sales man at the front desk was rude, 0 customer service, I'm don't looking for anything free, just a minimum customer service ( I have 60 years old)

Three Hours On the Phone!

I spent three hours with three different agents on the phone trying to get my reservations changed. As they were working to change the reservations (what an insane process) the price of the change went up over the three hours and they would not honor the same change rate...are you kidding me??

It is almost intentional that they make me call back and then they keep me on the phone for over an hour with three different agents to make sure they charge me extra. I spent over $1000 for my family to fly to Bogota when I could have spent $600 on Spirit and had no issues. I WILL NEVER FLY Latam again. Its not worth a blanket and pillow.

What terrible service you provide. I have worked as a Senior Leader for years with Hilton and I could not imagine treating a customer this way.
Update...I arrived at the airport today and went to check my prepaid bag. The gentleman at the desk said it was not prepaid and I had to pay again. He informed me that it was paid for yesterday's flight not today.

He wanted me to pay again for a checked bag. I showed him my receipt for the paid bag and he informed me that I would have to pay the fee then call Latam to get refunded. Huh?? I asked for Supervisor and I was told the Supervisor was not available...I said I would wait.

After a few minutes, the agent told me he would pass it on to his supervisor and that he would not charge me. This airline clearly does not understand empowerment and customer service.

Latam flight from Peru to New York

Hi.
I'm very sad that I have to contact under these circumstances but this I cannot let slide. Today 28.2.2024 me and my two friends used Latam airplane company services in Lima airport, Peru.
We arrived to airport in good time, 9.00 am.

Our flight to New York was scheduled 12.
We went to info and asked what was the gate we have to be on and got in the long line of gate 16.
We were in the line for two hours asking if we were in the right place for New York flight. We heard servers yelling (very quietly) Atlanta and Miami, never New York, otherwise we would have gone to the plane obviously. It is absolutely incredible how its possible we got to be on the line the whole two hours without hearing new york, and all the questions we asked, went to the deaf ears. At 11am, we were very close to gate and we had 1 hour to the take off so we were worried, how we are still in the line.

We started asking the staff, about New York going plane.
I had to ask at least 8 times for someone passing and no one wanted to hear me.
When finally I got someones attention, she said that the New York plane has already closed the package intake and we couldn't go in it. We were furious and in shock, since we had been doing everything right and by the instructions given by Latam customer service.
Some of the service people was luckily trying to help and calmed us by saying that we could get our flight changed.
This is where the story goes crazy.
We were told to wait for the supervisor, so we could talk with him in order to what happens next. We waited and maybe by 1pm.
I believe his name was Ceasar.
I have NEVER in my 33 year life met any person that evil as this man was. He had absolutely no intention of helping us with our situation.

His only motive to come to us, was to over rule everything we had to say about our situation. He didn't listen to any sentence to the ending, because he was determined to only defend the staff, without any reasonable conversation. This man, i think, thought he was being a good worker, but instead he really ruined every bit of public image, your company has. Not only that he was not good at his job, as I said, this man was so rude and evil towards us, I would never forgive the way of his behievor.

I am 100% sure he was under the influence of cocaine (This is NOT a joke). I could see it in his behaviour. The icing coldness in the eyes, incapability of feeling any sympathy towards our situation, the sweating and the indifferent confidence he had.
He literally laughed at us when we were holding tears in shock of what was going on.
He said it was our fault that "we weren't on time" for the line. We told that the cameras would show that we have been in the line for two hours (and if you need to check them, you absolutely can), but he said that nobody's going to look for the cameras.

He said he is not going to get us any refunds or new tickets, that we are on our own.
We wouldnt believe but as I was continuing our conversation, he smirked and waved his hand saying bye bye. I am positive that this horrible person felt great deal of happiness towards our sadness because he didn't want to give any kind of help for us. We also asked for any kind of document for us, saying that this situation has happened, so we could use it in Finland to our insurance company as a proof, so we could get some refunds through there. Ceasar didnt want us to get any help.
It was after another couple hours that we got the real help from this wonderful woman servicer that I think new what kind of man Ceasar was.

Without her, i dont know what would have happened.
Before we got to talk to Ceasar, he was doing this exact same thing to a woman on wheelchair. She and her assistant were trying to get to flight but this Ceasar blocked it and didnt help them either.
I am telling you, you have a very dangerous man working for you. He is going to ruin the face of Latam. For us and for many, many people.

His criminal like of behievor does not fit the job he is in. I really wish for your own sake, that you take this warning and writing seriously.

I dont believe we will ever use Latam services again, and I can say the same for my family and friends, and the woman in the wheelchair before us. This man under the influence of narcotics, was the worse experience in a long time in my life.
We lost 560 to New York hotel and without the help of real customer services you had, we could have lost a lot more in case we would have had any money.
Please consider this with deep thought.
I would never want this nightmare to happen to anybody else and if this man continues his job, trust me, many will.
